Youth Employability & Career Pathways

Equipping young people with the skills and pathways to support long-term recovery and opportunity

Supporting underserved, displaced and conflict-affected young people to transition from education into meaningful careers, further study, and long-term opportunity.

Phoenix Space develops sustainable career or further education pathways that combine digital upskilling, mentorship, work experience, employer engagement, career readiness, and higher education progression support.

Our work focuses on helping young people not only access education but also successfully translate learning into livelihoods and professional growth. We aim to support our students in acquiring the expertise, global exposure, and networks needed to contribute meaningfully to the future reconstruction, recovery, and long-term development of their communities.

OUR FLAGSHIP PROGRAMME

From Education to Livelihoods

From Education to Livelihoods is Phoenix Space’s flagship employability programme supporting high-achieving Palestinian students and graduates, with a particular focus on master’s students, as they transition from university into sustainable employment and further education opportunities.

Phoenix Space is currently supporting 198 high-achieving Palestinian students enrolled in universities across the UK and Ireland, equipping them with the skills, networks, and professional experience needed to successfully navigate competitive labour markets and long-term career pathways.

Our students are studying in key sectors including medicine, engineering and technology. They are exceptional students, future leaders, changemakers, and skilled professionals. Through their academic and professional journeys, they are building the expertise, global exposure, and networks needed to contribute meaningfully to the future reconstruction, recovery, and long-term development of Gaza and their wider communities, while strengthening systems through internationally informed practice and leadership.

Background

Over the past nine months, Phoenix Space and its partners have supported 104 Gazan students and 26 of their dependents in the UK to continue their education and begin rebuilding their futures following displacement and conflict.

Phoenix Space serves as the central coordination and funding partner, securing tuition and living support, facilitating visa compliance, post-arrival assistance and managing complex relocation logistics to ensure students can safely continue their studies.

Building on this work, 198 Palestinian students currently studying at leading universities across the UK and Ireland are now participating in Phoenix Space’s Education-to-Livelihoods programme, an initiative designed to move beyond emergency educational access and support longer-term pathways into opportunity, employment, and further study.

Students enrolled in Education to Livelihoods

As a Gazan, I never imagined I would one day study at one of the top universities in the world — the leading institution for Public Health globally. Life in Gaza has always been a struggle, whether in terms of daily living, education, or even basic connectivity. But the moment I connected with Phoenix Space, everything began to change. They supported me in securing my offer, provided the necessary funding, and even guided me through the visa application process. They were with me step by step — all the way until I arrived in the UK and began my studies. Even now, their support continues, both financially and emotionally, in different and meaningful ways. Without their incredible help, I wouldn’t be here today, pursuing my dream.
