Balloon camps are a key component of the Phoenix Space Program. Working with their instructors, students design experiments that will be carried aboard a high altitude scientific balloon and executed while up in the earth’s atmosphere. Data from the experiments are then shared with the students, who learn how to analyze, interpret, and apply the information that was gathered.
Each camp consists of 10 hours of academic instruction spread over two weekend days, with 20 Phoenix Space students taking part in person at one of our Middle East academic centers. The curriculum is developed in house by Phoenix Space educational experts and supported by astrophysicists from leading universities.
